INFO

Yentl Vlachos is a Dutch director based in the Netherlands.

In 2016, she was accepted into Fontys School of Arts, where she studied theatre directing. Her background in theatre continues to shape her approach to filmmaking, with a strong focus on socially relevant stories that open up conversations and encourage audiences to see familiar themes from a different perspective.

Yentl is particularly interested in personal stories and themes surrounding identity, sexuality, relationships, and coming of age. She is drawn to stories set during adolescence and young adulthood. Formative periods in which people discover who they are, how they relate to others, and where they belong. She believes that our youth forms the blueprint for much of the person we become, making these years an endlessly rich and universal source for storytelling.

Her work explores the emotional truth within personal stories, often connecting intimate experiences to broader social themes. Whether working on a short film, music video, or commercial, Yentl looks for the human story at the heart of each project.

Visually, she is drawn to nostalgic worlds that evoke genuine emotion while leaving room for playfulness and discovery. Her work is driven by a continuous curiosity for people, their stories, and the creative possibilities of film.
